Who is God ? Who is Obama? were top most search queries in Google search engine in 2007 and 2008 respectively in “Who is” ….. List .’ Love’ topped the” what is…” list in both the years . It certainly means that Love is the most sought after thought in these tough times of uncertainty . These search queries are the referendum of people to President elect Barrack Obama to direct the policies which spread love around the world. For an Interesting interpretation let us add the above topmost search of “who is….” of 2007 and 2008, Love being the common top searched word of ‘what is’ list’ in both the years. Careful observation brings the exciting interpretation. “God love Obama”. People love God (Google search ,2007).God love Obama (Our derived inference) so the People love Obama by both logics.

Is Brand just a logo or a name ?

A brand is a confidence of people on your product or service ,It is a trust ,perception , value and the complete experience of consumers which they identify and able to distinguish from other. Online branding on internet makes task more challenging as millions of web pages appears writing a few key words and users eagerness for relevance and accurate information produce frequent bounce rates in search engines.

From the point one visitor who come across your website until the moment he recalls your site latter, what unique footprints you leave to stand out from the crowd ? If a significant message you want to leave, what would it be ?Do all WebPages of your site leave the same impression ? Do your content, fonts, design, color, entire layout, graphics etc reinforce the same message? A website should always try to deeply connect with the issues and problems people have .Website fine-tune with needs of visitors generate trust and loyalty .

Earlier brand wasn’t much of a deliberation in SEO. Relevance to key word was significant matter only. However, Search engines have move one step ahead to problem solving from relevance search .The nowdays Google and others wants to search solutions, Answers that matter to the site visitors.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt said:

“Brands are the solution, not the problem… Brands are how you sort out the cesspool.”

Google’s seeks to weed out false information. Schmidt sees brands as a way to do this.

Brands are going to precede in terms of search ranks. What do brands posses that unbranded site don’t.

For beginners, brand names are typed into search boxes as a keyword .It is readily associated with a product or service. When seotonic was launched ,no one used to search key word ‘ seotonic’ but now people do as seotonic emeges as a recognized seo service provider brand.

How can we survive and grow in this highly unpredictable environment where even the financial Analysts and Gurus themselves are rushing to palmists to know their own future ? Many products brands and companies are struggling for the survival. Business are cutting costs ,.The trend of gloom and financial doom continues to haunt marketers . Pruning costly T.V and News papers advertising budget and reaching to customers online seems to be one cost effective alternative these times. SEO and SEM are undoubtedly the unbeaten strategies whose success pivot around the Google .A brand which has become the part of language for people all around the world .Its not only a verb in the dictionary but a sound economy which offers marketer, web publishers and advertisers to reach target audience with better ROI.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results.

Our products and service become more visible with rankings in search results. Optimizing includes editing its content of websites and HTML coding which enable search engine spiders crawl our keywords , products and offers .Its an unpaid form of reaching the prospective customers .

The reality is, the criteria we used only a year ago to increase search engine ranks has changed and pace of change is very fast . Due to fast changing trends and technology it would not be an exaggeration if say that change is the only constant in Marketing .

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimization removes barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

As Google’s algorithm changes, so must our strategy to enhance natural search rankings. Yes, content is still important, but the trends I am seeing are in the following areas:

* Site Performance: if your site commands trust then your site will drive the attention of Google .The big boss will bring more clients and visitors for you through natural search. If bounce rate of your site is more than 80 % .It may raise the eye brows of Goolgle and you may penalized be (if not totally dropped like hot potato by search engine giant).50% bounce rate is normally accepted.

*Linking-Social networking sites ,blogs and forums are bringing about compelling change in Google’s search outlook . Where the links are coming from is very important. Off page optimization is equally important as on page. It calls for better relationship with blogging and networking community.

If Recession still haunts you! Relax , beat recession with evergreen & unbeaten tool.

Merry Christmas.

Now the websites visitors may not have to do the nagging task of filling up the form, uploading photograph and memorizing username etc. Website visitors can now sign in to different websites using their existing identity on Face book (worlds largest social media network).

Now the Face book ‘Connect button’ which is appearing on many sites bring barrier free flow of new and more volumes of website visitors who want to interact with the sites but don’t want painful registrations .The website accessed is granted information about its the visitor, available in Facebook such as and taste & preference ,birthday, hobbies, likes and dislikes etc. Such valuable information means ‘content ‘and’ advertisements’ can be targeted accordingly.

Similar effort has also been done at Google as it released “Google “friend connect “ which is competing with Face book’s Connect’ There are some key differences between Google’s friends connect and Face book’s connect. Google lets User sign in ‘Websites’ with Yahoo, MSN and AOL also. Google’s’ friends connect’ is easier as it requires adding few codes on the site while Face book ‘connect’ is complicated process. But Face book has more advantages in terms of partnering with third party services. It is working with mega social media networking and book marking sites like Digg,Stumble Upon, Loop, Delicious etc. Google social media networking partners are small and run by individuals.

Although Face Book has taken early lead but only time will tell who among the behemoth Internet giants will win the battle of social media network .However websites owners will remember the Face book for revolutionizing social media technology which enables them drive more traffic of Site visitors and sell wares better. Site visitors will also be relived from cumbersome and time consuming task of submitting information like email address, username and memorizing passwords etc.

The November 2008,Netcraft survey shows worldwide monthly growth of nearly three million websites, with count of websites including blogs touching 185,167,897 figure .Amazing growth and amazing challenges for website owners to reaching out internet users and driving maximum traffic to website. Here are some simple actions and tips that help reach faster to target audience.

Novel and Par- Excellent Content on Website.

This is the unbeaten way of boosting traffic to a website; giving people something that they cannot get elsewhere, or at least, not to the level of excellence that you are offering it. Superior quality than the competitor can be offered in following ways:

1.Creating content that is helpful and useful.: In a digital haystack of data on the internet, an internet user visits our site with an expectation to know ,learn, get information or finding the solution of the problems .A high traffic driven website meets all his expectation religiously.

2.Fresh Content – Web need to regularly update the site with novel , rich quality content and relevant information. This ensures the repeated visits .Regularly updated website commands the trust of visitors.

3.Do not copy-Never copy and paste from another website – Google, Altavista MSN and other search engines are smart enough to throw such traffic seeking site at bottom of search results.

Improving search engine rankings.-

This is called search engine optimization (SEO)and will help people find your website when they’re searching the worldwide web. We must ensure that keywords flow logically and naturally with the text .Using the words and vocab which are eaisly understood by target visitors. Keywords not only go into headings and page names but also into “meta tags”.., If the wrong keywords are targeted we may not get any traffic. Finally its always better to avoid overstuffing of keywords;

Get linked.-

Two way links-This is a very significant part of getting closer to visitors. – Exchanging links with other websites that are closely related to the subject of our website can drive more website traffic. These are two-way links because we must provide a link to them, too, and linking to inferior websites can threaten our credibility . We should link to sites that are dead on topic, and truly help our visitors. Professional link building companies like seotonic are the experienced and trusted name in providing high quality links to website owners.

One way link- Increase the number of inbound links to your site – If other sites around the Internet link to your site this will increase traffic to you directly and indirectly. The direct boost is given because surfers who see our links may click through and visit our site. The indirect traffic boost given by link popularity is that your site will get a higher search engine ranking in search engines which measure link popularity as an index of a website’s value. The search results in Google are based in a large part on this factor.

Social Network Strategy

Through website technology including forums, blogs outbound and inbound links, and social networking sites (Myspace, Facebook, Digg, etc.), social marketing becomes a convenient way to increase websites visibility. The “friends” added social networking community will likely take a look at our website, which can exponentially increase our site’s viewer ship. Imagine how many new viewers our site could have if all of our friends, and their friends, and their friend’s friends (and so on!) stopped by our website. It truly is a great way to promote site.

It reminded me of famous quotation of Picaso “Good artists copy, great artists steal” during the seminar on Innovation Management where a patent Attorney from renowned firm was delivering a lecture on role of trademarks in marketing of goods. She showed a power point slide of world’s most powerful brands ie Microsoft and IBM .She attributed their success to sheer inventions and innovations .It really took me by surprise and I asked her with due respect, about a missing name i.e Apple Computers of Mr.Steve Jobs.I supported my question saying that ‘if we combine the inventions of Microsoft five times, those will not be greater than Apple’s.”

Apple is the first company that gave the personal computer to world besides graphical user interface (GUI),I Pod and Mac book.

She understood well what I wanted to ask . Microsoft of course is one of the most valued brands of the world but not as innovative as Apple. Here lies the crux of marketing .”It does not matter what the truth actually is but how it is communicated & perceived by entire world. Microsoft is also an innovative company but it innovates differently. Yes It takes other’s inventions and makes it so market friendly that entire world embrace its products with open arms.

From an idea to invention to product taking its final shape, millions of dollars and man-hours are invested .But only those become Microsoft who act with sharp acumen .

Six Sigma a most talked about strategy in corporate boardrooms today was originally developed by Motorola . Six Sigma which seeks to identify and remove the causes of defects and errors in manufacturing and business processes was actually implemented and practiced better by GE than its original developer Motorola . Today renowned Web Analyst and Search Engine Optimization companies like Seotonic.com and sharpizes.com are advocating its applicability for their clients.

We should learn the lesson from Microsoft and GE . ‘Good artists copy, great artists steal.’
